Laser Cutting Capabilities
We can apply our laser cutting skills to the following material:
- Thickness:
- Mild steel up to 25mm
- Stainless steel up to 15mm
- Aluminium up to 12mm
- Brass up to 8mm
- Copper up to 6mm
- Sheet dimensions: 3000mm x 1500mm
Benefits of Laser Cutting
There are a number of both traditional and modern cutting techniques available, depending on your desired end result, so why choose CNC Laser Cutting?
- Intricate and highly precise cutting
- Cleaner cuts, avoiding finishing operations
- Non-contact cutting process decreases risk of material distortion and contamination
- Highly versatile
- Repeatable
- Energy efficient
How Does CNC Laser Cutting Work?
A CNC laser cutter is a piece of computer numerical controlled (CNC) equipment that automates the movement of a high-powered laser beam to cut or engrave material to a pre-programmed pattern.
The laser itself focusses energy at a particular point on the workpiece, melting and even vaporising the material being cut, before compressed gas removes residues on the cut surface.
This thermal cutting process allows us to achieve really fine levels of detail on a wide range of different materials.
Our Laser Cutting Machines
Our cutting-edge fabrication technology offers the very latest advances in laser cutting, keeping quality high and wastage low. We employ the Amada Ensis 3015 RI fibre laser – a versatile rotary index laser cutting system that allows us to cut thin-to-thick materials and switch between cutting flat sheet to tube or pipe cutting in only a couple of minutes.
The advanced Amada SheetWorks software helps finalise sheet and tube metal parts and assemblies with precision, automatically creating unfold drawings, with all the related CAD/CAM attributes, and using 3D modelling to improve overall quality and efficiency.
